Common Questions
How thick are the Schluter-KERDI-SHOWER shower trays?
The perimeter height of each of the KERDI-SHOWER-LT shower trays are dependent upon the size selection you pick. KSLT1000 has a perimeter height of 32mm (1-1/4"). The KSLT1220 has a perimeter height of 34mm (1-3/8") and the KSLT1395 has a perimeter height of 36mm (1-7/16")
What are the Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER prefabricated substrates made of? Can they really support the tile assembly?
The KERDI-SHOWER prefabricated substrates are made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam with a high compressive strength. They provide a convenient, lightweight, and stable substrate for the KERDI waterproofing membrane and tile. After the tile is installed and grouted, the assembly will support all the loads typical of tiled showers. This can include glass doors or glass block walls.
What is the largest size hole I can cut in the subfloor for the drain?
The maximum would have a 5” diameter. A template is included in the drain kit box to guide the application.
